We are just beginning to get this page under construction, so please bear with us.
The Sanctuary is intended as a place where people in need in Issaquah can find day shelter from the storm. We will be offering:
- A place to stay dry and safe during the day
- Warm beverages and snacks
- Showers
- Laundry
- Companionship
Our ministry is grounded in the Sanctuary Community, an intentional gathering of people in the tradition of the Catholic Worker. We are not affiliated with any Christian denomination or other institution, leaving us free to respond to the prompting of the Spirit as we walk together in the Way of Jesus. We meet weekly for prayer, Bible study and our shared reflections on our work and life together. We will be adding regular times of community worship at which all are welcome.
We are grateful for the support of a growing network of volunteers, who provide food, toiletries and other items; committed time in companionship with our friends on the margins; and the necessary funds to pay the rent and utilities. We all offer our time free of charge to enable God's Spirit to work among us.
For now, this page provides options for how to support our work with the folks on the margins here in Issaquah. If you would like to schedule a time to bring a donation of material support or to volunteer to spend time at the house, please email Marilyn or Barbara.
You can make either a one-time or periodic financial donation by credit card via PayPal using the links below. You are also welcome to bring cash or check with you when you come by to visit or drop off a donation.
